Story Behind the Name

We had students from around the world, with different tongues. With each language having its own uniqueness, and associated challenges of teaching Quran,  we’ve really witnessed the miracle of the Quran. Each and every student developing a profound bond with the Quran, and seeing a great effect on their lives, it was like a demonstration of the Ayah: 

 

“From them emerge pearls and coral.”

 

Since we are all different, so each one of us has been touched differently by the Quran and it lead us to different paths. Yet, all is pretty and beneficial just like the lovely ornaments of اللؤلؤ والمـرجان.

Be a strong clear compass to the students who wants to gain academic knowledge and guidance of the Quran to fulfill their purpose in life.

Our Approach

At Marjan University, we offer the distinguished approach of the live interactive learning.

All courses and lectures are taught live and not recorded, the interactive educational process of the live meeting between students and their teachers (المدارسة).

We believe in adopting the same approach of the prophet (ﷺ) and his companions of المدارسة

”كان رسول اللهِ (ﷺ)  أجودَ الناسِ، وكان أجودَ ما يكون في رمضانَ حين يلقاه جبريلُ،

وكان يلقاهُ في كل ليلةٍ من رمضانَ فيدارسُه القرآنَ، فلرسولُ اللهِ صلَّى اللهُ عليهِ وسلَّمَ أجودُ بالخيرِ من الريحِ المرسلةِ“

“Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was the most generous of all the people, and he used to be more generous in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel used to meet him. Gabriel used to meet him every night in Ramadan to study the Holy Qur’an carefully together. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to become more generous than the fast wind when he met Gabriel”.   [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Though this puts a lot of burden on both teachers and admins, but we could see the fruit of it on the students and how much this benefited them both in terms of knowledge as well as bond with the fellow Muslim community, specially for revert sisters.

Our Approach

We focus on establishing the concept of unity of the Muslim ummah in everything we do: keeping our time zone as per our one Qiblah, Makkah time; maintaining the live interaction with various nationalities in each class and teaching Quranic Arabic as per the advice of Umar ibn Al-Khattab:

”تعلموا العربية فإنها من الدين“
